Lori Benoit Dupuis
Born and raised in Opelousas, Lori Benoit Dupuis began her education at Opelousas Catholic School before transitioning into the public school system, attending Opelousas High School. During her high school years, she was mentored by Dr. Rodney Johnson, whose guidance played a pivotal role in shaping her career path and personal growth.
Lori spent over 15 years working as a paralegal, with a focus on maritime, medical malpractice, and criminal litigation. In 2023, she transitioned into nonprofit leadership, joining the St. Landry Chamber of Commerce as Director of Membership and Marketing. In January 2025, she was appointed President and CEO, where she continues to lead with vision and dedication.
Lori also spearheaded the creation of the City of Opelousas’s first-ever fully functional animal shelter and adoption center. She established key partnerships with the BISSELL Pet Foundation, Scott’s Wish/Mardi Paws, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka to launch rescue transport initiatives—successfully relocating 100’s of animals to Northern rescues for adoption—- achievement that highlights her dedication to both civic progress and animal welfare.
Lori serves on the SoLaCC Campus Advisory Board, the St. Landry Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board, the St. Landry Chamber Youth Leadership Council as an Advisor, and the St. Landry Young Professionals Advisory Committee. Lori is also a proud Opelousas Kiwanis member.
She is married to Saul Dupuis, and they are the proud parents of two children: Benit, a student at SoLaCC, and Arden, who attends St. Genevieve Catholic School. Their family also includes three furry members, Luna, Beaux, and Molly. Outside of her Chamber role, Lori and her husband own Dupuis Package and Gourmet Road Sauce Company.
