Leadership St. Landry

Mission

Leadership St. Landry is designed to identify, engage, and empower emerging leaders to shape the future of our community. Participants will develop leadership skills, expand professional networks, explore regional issues, and collaborate on a community-impact project that leaves a lasting legacy.

 

Who Should Apply

  • Mid- to senior-level professionals who live or work in St. Landry Parish
  • Individuals committed to personal growth, civic engagement, and regional leadership
  • Applicants must be 21 or older and able to attend monthly sessions
 

Program Timeline

  • Application Period: June 1 – August 15, 2025
  • Program Duration: September 2025 – May 2026
  • Session Frequency: Monthly half-day sessions (1–2 additional sessions possible for project planning or event prep)
  • Graduation Dinner: May 2026
 

Core Program Features

  • Community Leadership Project
    Participants will collaboratively identify, plan, and execute a class project that addresses a local need or opportunity. Projects must be completed by graduation.
  • Business & Industry Tours
    Each session will feature behind-the-scenes tours and panels with local business, civic, and nonprofit leaders.
  • Youth Council Collaboration
    Joint activities with the St. Landry Youth Leadership Council will foster intergenerational leadership learning. Activities may include shared service days, mentoring, and roundtable discussions.
  • Skill-Building & Networking
    Monthly topics will explore leadership strategies, communication, economic development, education, healthcare, and more.
    • Communications: Can attend a Social Media Breakfast; Economic Development: Can attend Business Summit; Education: Tour of LUSE; Healthcare: tours of hospitals are easy.
 

Tuition

Tuition for the 2025–2026 cohort will be set between $500 and $750 and covers:
  • Program materials
  • All session meals
  • Business tours and experiences
  • Graduation dinner
Limited payment plans may be available. Tuition is due upon acceptance unless a payment plan is requested.

Commitment Expectations

Participants are expected to:
  • Attend at least 90% of sessions
  • Actively participate in the community project
  • Collaborate respectfully with peers and Chamber staff
  • Represent their employer or organization professionally

 Graduation & Recognition

Graduates will be recognized at a formal dinner in May and may be invited to mentor future classes or serve as alumni facilitators.
